Proquest 1
Growing up I loved to read and still love to read poem by Emily Dickinson so I decided to look up information on her and see what I could find. She went to a Boarding School in South Hadley, Mass. In the article I read it states she didn't leave much information about herself behind....so there are blanks about her life. A person stated that most of her poems have predictable rhyme schemes, making them easy to memorize. They are easy to read and remember. The article also states she would think up her poems while doing chores and then at night is when she would write them down....that is maybe why she used dashes instead of formal punctuation. I didn't know she passed away in 1886...I thought she lived in the 1900s. I still think she is a fascinating person and her poems are very interesting.

Thanks for the info & lesson on Emily D. She's a fave of mine, too. I like your theory of why she used dashes! I look forward to your other findings in ProQuest, Librarian Bri.
